Love is being buried
 in the ground today.
  Blackened rose petals
   drifting down on a
    cold metal casket.
     Within the casket
       sweet dreams,
        hopes of love
         desire for
          wholeness.

Dead, with a life
 filled with promises
  a life just beginning
   to bud, to grow,
    dashed on the
     rocks of
      despair.
