Ronald Albin Ekwall

December 14, 1947 - May 31, 2011

(Ron and Teresa)

Ron’s Favorite things……

Harley riding and Hunting for deer meat,
Watching John Wayne acting with his feats.
Turquoise and silver, tatoos not lacking,
Snakes scales on my arms, some over-lapping.

these are a few of my favorite things.

Teresa and TV, Hamlet and German cake,
Children that love me and loving is what it takes.
Grandchildren with laughter, seeing them grow,
A part of me left here with all those you know.

these are a few of my favorite things.

when the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I’m feeling bad
I simply remembered
my favorite things
and then I didn’t feel so bad!

Any chance to joke and to make some fun
Grabbing the Harley to just take a-run,
Bonding with buddies, hunting at dawn,
Following the tracks but loving the fawns.

these are a few of my favorite things.

Fleetwood Mac and all kinds of music,
Headphones, recliner and way back… I kick..
Cooking up rhubarb and strawberry pies,
Makes my mouth water you know I can’t lie.

these are a few of my favorite things.

Nephews and nieces bring such a pleasure,
Toy with my heart strings, they are such a treasure.
Chocolate and brownies now sure make me mellow,
When migraines all gone, I’m a happier fellow.

these are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad, I simply remembered
my favorite things
and then I didn’t feel so bad!

To Ronnie - My brother

I remember
that little boy
with great sad eyes.

So Innocent,
looking out to
the world.

For protection
for love,
and not finding it.

I've loved you
always my brother,
but I know
your heart breaks,

You search....
I wish
I could help.

But only you
can do it
as I must too.

Growing up is painful
but it must be done.

Finding our hearts desires
must begin inside.

Finding that love
of God-of self.

I know you
and you know me,

....and yet....

we are apart
with separate lives.

We once shared
a childhood.

We once shared a life,
where will it end?
or will it ever?

I hope not -
for I will miss you.

I love you my brother

and miss you!

your 'kay-kay'
