The cool kids

Tell me a secret, like a forgotten hidden treasure, whisper it to me.
Or try passing it under the desks,
hoping not to be found out by the cool kids, "that you even knew me at all".
Those secrets seem like a rocky pathway.

                   Traveling barefoot, growing up.
I was looking for a glimpse of a treasured smile, of someone I once knew.
Worn out memories, from earlier times.
Hoping for time to heal, what ever may have occurred that change that road sign.
It may never be the same, as when we where younger.
Now let me tell you a secret.
Love changes you, and with it the cool kids.
